Old media and new media walk into a bar...
Media Maker Cheryl Furjanic serves up some thoughts. Drink up!

@wilw @GregGrunberg make plans in 140 characters or less.

I’ve been following Greg Grunberg (Matt Parkman from NBC’s Heroes) and Wil Wheaton (of Stand by Me and Star Trek: The Next Generation) tweeting back and forth on Twitter recently.  They were scheming to get Wil to guest star on Heroes (good summary here).  First of all, I should say that it’s a strange (yet exciting) feeling to read mini updates or  “news feeds” from folks you watch on TV mixed in with updates from your friends and co-workers.  And though there’s apparently no truth (yet) to this guest star buzz created by Wil and Greg, the fact that these two could stir up such buzz in 140 character chunks is rather remarkable! My favorite tweets were the ones where they were cooking up an idea for an on-line show.

greggrunberg @wilw Let’s do our own show on-line. Not kidding. Could be hilarious. We need a title…uh… Barefoot & Pregnant (Buddy Cop Thing)

wilw @greggrunberg Buddy cop shows are awesome, and I’ve written comedy. E-mail me if you’re serious.

greggrunberg @wilw I am totally serious. How do I email you? I mean from here…

If Clark and Michael do it, why can’t Wil and Greg?

And even though Barack Obama has been quiet on Twitter recently, I’m still loving this cartoon (which I saw on Wil Wheaton’s Twitter feed, btw).
