HBO uses “True” fan comments in marketing

Had a great time at Futures of Entertainment 3 over the weekend (more posts about that soon).  At the panel on “Social Media,” Sabrina Caluori (Director of Marketing and Promotions at HBO online) talked about how HBO has used fan comments and feedback in their on-air marketing for True Blood.  Calouri talked about what a huge thrill it was for these “True fans” to see their comments go from message boards to broadcast.  It proved to the fans that they were really listening.

HBO continued their use of True Blood fan comments in this e-blast which went out yesterday. Nice work, HBO.  Fans love to be heard - especially when they spend so much time watching (and talking about watching) your shows!
