PistolCam
The New York Post ran a story today about the Pistol Cam - a digital video camera that mounts to the barrel of a gun and records the audio and video of the users’ actions. A former Bronx homicide prosecutor (who helped develop the cam) wants the NYPD to consider mounting the cam onto all of its service weapons. According to the article, “The device is turned on by a magnetic switch as soon as the firearm is pulled from its holster.”
The makers of the camera say that it would have answered some of the questions about what was done and said on the night of Sean Bell’s shooting.

Perhaps even knowing that a camera would record their actions as soon as they drew their weapons would change the way these guns are handled.
